10-20 Jun 2025 Cargèse (France)

Presentation

The International Research Laboratory (IRL) ‘Quantum Frontiers’ (https://irl-lfq.com) is hosting a two-week summer school on quantum science and technologies in June 2025.

This international summer school is open to all young researchers – PhD students and postdocs – in condensed matter physics with the aim to introduce modern concepts and methods used in the fields of quantum materials and quantum information. These apparently disconected fields of research are instead mutually interconnected and treated on the same footing to promote interactions between the two communities.

Sixteen experts will lecture on topics such as these:

QUANTUM MATERIALS – Superconductors, spin liquids, topology, moiré systems, advanced theoretical and experimental techniques, etc.

QUANTUM INFORMATION – Microwave optics, superconducting qubits, cold atoms, nano-mechanics, Josephson junctions, etc.

In addition, there will be four seminars and a public lecture on topics of current interest.

The school is designed to foster as much interaction as possible between lecturers and participants, with poster sessions, student presentations, dedicated question periods and lots of free time for discussion.

Location

The school will be held at "Institut d'Etudes Scientifiques" in Cargèse, Corsica, France.

Cargèse is located in southern Corsica, on the west coast, 35km from Ajaccio.
